Premier Inn joins forces for 18th autism championship in Abu Dhabi
500 lunch boxes distributed to support children of determination
ABU DHABI: Premier Inn Middle East and Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) has joined hands to support the 18th Emirates Physical Fitness Championship for People of Determination in the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Organised by the Emirates Autism Center, the event was held on 24th April at Al Jazira Club in Abu Dhabi. Under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, the initiative aimed to promote physical fitness, social inclusion, and autism awareness across the UAE.
The championship forms part of the global Autism Awareness Campaign, reinforcing the UAE’s dedication to ensuring equal opportunities and enhanced quality of life for individuals with autism and other developmental challenges. Hundreds of children of determination from across the Emirates took part in a variety of fun and engaging physical activities designed to promote movement, teamwork, and self-confidence.

500 lunch boxes distributed
To mark their involvement, team members from Premier Inn’s Abu Dhabi hotels and their ELR counterparts distributed 500 nutritious lunch boxes to young participants. The meals, which included baked items, fresh fruit, and juice, were handed out with smiles and encouragement throughout the day. The gesture was aimed at not only fuelling the children’s energy but also showing genuine care and support for their wellbeing.

Simon Leigh, Managing Director of Premier Inn Middle East, expressed his appreciation for the event, saying: “We are proud to support the Emirates Autism Center and be part of such a meaningful event. It was an honour for our team members to share this special day with the children and their families. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to being a Force For Good – making a positive and lasting difference in the communities we serve.”
